If one thing is widely agreed upon in the kratom community, it’s that kratom isn’t easy to get down. The toss and wash method is a remarkably simple technique, which accounts for its widespread popularity as one of, if not, the best way to take kratom. New users may be a bit confused; after all, the term alone doesn’t really give a clear picture of what “toss and wash kratom” really looks like.
Below, we’ll be covering everything you need to know about the infamous toss and wash kratom ingestion method. From the basics of how it’s done, to tips and tricks to ensure you get the best experience. Read on for an in-depth discussion of one of the most popular techniques on how to use kratom powder.
1. How Do I Toss and Wash Kratom?
The toss and wash method is similar to chugging something that doesn’t taste all-that good. We’ve all been there, whether with alcohol or taking medicine; and at a certain point in all of our lives, we’ve done both (not recommended).
The method is used as an alternative to kratom capsules, for those who aren’t crazy about swallowing pills. It’s also an alternative for those who find putting kratom in their drinks or food to be a less than pleasant experience. Understandably, not everyone loves the taste, or bitterness, of kratom.
But why do they call it “toss and wash”?
It’s because you put your measured dose of kratom (toss) in your mouth, and then you drink your preferred beverage to get it down (wash). Therefore, you’ve successfully performed a toss and wash.
2. Measure Out Your Dosage
It may sound rudimentary, but it is something some kratom users forget, especially beginners. Don’t “eyeball it” and hope for the best. Always make sure to use a scale to get your accurate dosage. If you’re unsure what your dose is, start small and work your way up.
Some people need more than others. It will depend on your tolerance levels, which you will have to experiment with a little to get it right over time. But, once you know your correct dosage, you’ll be well on your way to tossing and washing like a pro.
3. Put Your Dose in a Glass First
After measuring out your dosage, transfer it from the scale to a glass. That will make it much easier to toss and wash, as it will be more easily accessible than trying to scrape it off the scale and onto a spoon. After doing this a few times and learning what your dose is, you can skip the scale step and go straight from a scoop or spoon, to your mouth.
4. Put the Kratom in Your Mouth
Aim for the middle of your tongue when putting it into your mouth. Otherwise, you risk it coating the back of your throat. This is not a pleasant experience, and can cause you to cough. You may then lose your dosage and cough it up everywhere.
After you have spooned your desired amount of kratom on your tongue, chug with water, or your favorite beverage. While water is the liquid of choice for a toss and wash, you can use other beverages such as orange juice of chocolate milk. We find that these two drinks really help mask the bitterness. In the end it doesn’t matter, as long as you get the dosage of kratom in. And make sure you get all of it, don’t stop halfway through, you may regret it.
And That’s it, Folks!
Most kratom users find that this “toss ‘n wash” method is the best way to get it down. However, many people may find it to be unpleasant. While you do get it “over with”, you will probably still taste the powder. Go ahead and try this method out and see if it is for you. If not, don’t worry, there are other ways to get it down!
